I finished my two Quilt for the Cure blocks.
Once I decided where to put the different pieces, they went very quickly. They were easy to put together. I used my new 12 1/2 inch square ruler to square them up. I was surprised to find that they were slightly larger than expected. I guess I’ll have to recalibrate my 1/4 inch seams.
The new 12 1/2 inch ruler was purchased out of frustration with trying to square up blocks on a previous project. (The 40% off coupon pushed me over the edge.) So far, I’m delighted with it. I used it on my current project, which will be revealed in my next post.
Thanks, Nancy, for the block kits!
Ooooh, cool, Marty! I just looked at my kit this morning and it does seem very easy. Maybe that’s the next small project I’ll tackle now that the wipes are done. (I want to get back to the Nesting Quilt project, for obvious reasons, but it requires more fabric, which requires a trip to the fabric store, which is somewhat difficult with young Master James along for the ride.)
And I just noticed the Dec. 1 deadline for getting them sent to the drop-off point in Indy. I think I might actually be able to manage that!
I wonder if they measured up large because the organizers cut the pieces just a smidge large, thinking that non-quilters might have trouble sewing a small-enough quarter-inch seam allowance? I know my seam allowances tend to run just a bit more than a quarter inch, no matter what I do.
