Now that my Christmas Crackpot projects are (nearly!) complete, I can start working on making some Christmas decorations for our house. I’d like to make a Christmas table runner and some Christmas placemats. I saw the pattern for this quilt in the November/December ’08 Quiltmaker and thought I might be able to modify it slightly to make it a rectangular placemat. Here’s the first attempt – I think it turned out great!
P.S. To Cathy – This is my first time putting a link in my post – pretty advanced, don’t you think? 🙂
I think it turned out great too! What a good use for all kinds of lovely Christmas fabric, especially if you want to be sure to keep it in your own house, unlike gift bags which tend to travel around. I might have to make some for us out of the beautiful Nutcracker fabric you used to wrap James’s Christmas present.
Excellent work on the link, by the way! I think the new blog interface makes it a lot easier to do that kind of thing, which I really like.
That is really cool, Nancy! And I can figure out from just looking at it how you were able to piece the bows. Very clever! I may have to try that too. And those of us who have lots of Christmas fabrics in our stash but not enough to make a full set all the same could easily create a scrappy set. I’m inspired!
